Aikido Kapiti is a martial arts club practising classical Aikido.
The club has been training since 2005, with members joining us from all along the Coast: Paekakariki, Raumati, Paraparaumu, Waikanae, Otaki, and even further afield in the Wellington region.
We offer junior classes for children aged 10 or above. Classes are held on Saturday mornings during school terms. Children can join at the beginning of any term.
Adult classes are held on Tuesday evening and Saturday morning.
Aikido Kapiti is affiliated with the Fundamental Aikido Association (http://www.fundamental-aikido.com/), directed by Daniel Toutain .
Daniel Toutain studied under Morihiro Saito Sensei who was a direct student of Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of Aikido. Saito Sensei lived and studied with the founder for over 23 years at the Iwama Dojo in Japan.
